People have been eating canned fruit since the mid-20th century.
As recently as a few years ago, they were often made with apples and carrots.
But canned fruit has been under increasing pressure since the 2016 outbreak of coronavirus, which killed nearly 70,000 people.
The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says the canned fruits recall is the largest in the US since the 1980s, when there was a similar recall.
In the United Kingdom, people are eating canned cherries.
In the United States, they are eating a lot of canned fruit.
And the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) is warning consumers to avoid buying canned fruit from countries where there has been a confirmed case of coronovirus.
There is a chance the recall will lead to a shortage of canned cherrains, a product popular with British people.
Many of those who are affected have bought a bag of cherrries, which are used in a variety of desserts and other baked goods.
But people in the UK are now using a bag instead of a full bag, and people who have bought the bags are reporting a rise in food poisoning cases.
Some people are also reporting eating contaminated fruit.
“We have to get to a point where we are eating less fruit, which is a concern,” said Dr Michael McQuaid, director of public health at the Royal College of Physicians in the United Arab Emirates.
This year, he said, people will be more likely to buy fruits from countries with confirmed cases of coronivirus, such as Spain, where there is a case of the virus in one of its prisons.
Dr McQuay said people were also becoming more wary of eating the fruit they used to because of the recall.
“We are seeing a lot more concern around canned fruit, especially if you eat a lot,” he said.
Food safety campaigners have urged people to buy fruit from other countries that have had a confirmed coronaviral case.
There are also reports of people buying contaminated fruit from supermarkets and grocery stores.
However, Dr McQuays group of doctors have warned people to avoid the contaminated fruit and fruit products that they were buying.
People in Britain have been buying from the US because there is no case of COVID-19 in the country, he added.
More from the ABC:Canned fruit has always been popular in Britain, Dr Brown said.
“The UK has always had a reputation as a place that’s a bit of a tourist attraction,” he told ABC News.
“But it’s not just that we’ve been known for our apple pie, it’s that we’re a place where people can buy food from a range of different countries.”
The UK is currently the only country in the world that has not recorded a case.
Dr Brown warned people not to buy canned fruit that is contaminated with the coronaviruses.
“It’s important that people are careful, particularly people who may have a history of food poisoning and that people who might have been affected by the coroniviral strain should contact their GP as soon as possible,” he added.
“There’s been a lot about canned fruit in recent weeks, which I think is a good thing,” Dr Brown added.
